Back to the music inspiration…I mentioned Rocky the other day. While walking today “The Eye of the Tiger” came on my iPod. This was the theme song to Rocky. One of the lines goes as follows:
So many times, it happens too fast
You trade your passion for glory
Don’t lose your grip on the dreams of the past
You must fight just to keep them alive
Well, I am fighting to keep my dreams alive in so many ways. Work, travel, weight loss. All of them are a fight and my passion drives me.

Sweat makes it happen! After a good walk.
Today was a good day. Got up early, wrote a long review of PlantPure Nation, had some good meals, got a walk in. It was a long, yet productive day. I also wrote a blog post for the Great American Fitness Challenge, the first of a few periodic ones on my weight loss/fitness challenge journey.
For lunch I had a nice salad with some pears and pecans on it. And, of course, Julianne’s amazing 3-2-1 dressing. I also had brown rice slathered in Sambal Oelek Ground Fresh Chili Paste, just to spice it up a bit.

We got home and I walked. My connectivity was funky, so the walk app’s GPS didn’t get it all right. But, it was the same route from a day earlier, so I know how far it was. Once again, after about a mile I struggled with my knee. In fact, as I got close to home I even felt like I had stability issues…my knees were actually shaking…weird.

MapMyWalk for the day was off – but I walked 1.55 miles
While I was walking Julianne made another AMAZING dinner! In following the PlantPure Nation ideal, it was all plant-based…mashed potatoes made from real potatoes (which I peeled before my walk), a mushroom brown gravy, whole carrots glazed in organic maple syrup and sauteed bok choy with mushrooms and garlic. We also had a side of fruit with fresh mango, honeydew and kiwi. Almost everything was from Bountiful Baskets!

Wonderful dinner of mashed potatoes with brown mushroom gravy, maple syrup glazed carrots and bok choy, with a side of fresh fruit.
I felt good about my day. Helping me keep those dreams alive!
