Fitness Challenge Day 28 – Keep It Up or Get Down?

In the world of weight loss, many folks are out there and support you and encourage you. Quite often you will see the words “keep it up!”

Now, consider this… Is “Keep It Up” really a good thing to say to someone trying to lose weight? Rather, wouldn’t you want to tell them to “Get It Down?”

Okay, yes, we all know what “keep it up” really means. Something along the lines of “keep up the good work” or something like that.  But, as it is, weight loss is one of the few things where losing is the best course! So why not get down tonight and be a real loser? Now, that is the spirit that I am taking in this journey!

All joking aside, the effort is getting easier and the rewards are becoming greater! Despite the long walk yesterday with painful knees, I have felt energized most of the day. In fact, I am certain that it had to of started with the green smoothie that Julianne made this morning for breakfast and which I did not get a picture of. (sorry!)

For lunch I had some leftovers. I had what was left from my big salad yesterday, which was a nice salad with chopped Lady Alice apples and some nuts and greens. After pouring the salad into the bowl I used the rest of the refried beans and rice, guacamole and salsa and put it on top before realizing that I still had apples in my salad.

Despite the strange combination, it was good. But I must say this about the Lady Alice apples (exclusively… Even after a day of sitting in the jar there was not a brown spot on them. These apples not only taste good, but there Hardy and they don’t turn brown! Furthermore, the ones I have are organic.

I am loving these Lady Alice Apples!! An apple a day (or 2 even) keeps the weight away and helps me to Get Down! (exclusively by Rainier Fruit Company)

Julianne got off of work a bit late, had some errands to run and then had a huge homework project to complete.  So, we stopped at the Asian Bistro Express and picked up some veggie sushi (yes…PlantPure) to eat. We love the varieties of sushi they make there and they do a good job.  And I L-O-V-E the Wasabi Rush!

Veggie Sushi for dinner is good!

I actually did not walk because Julianne needed help with her homework.  She noted “I don’t want to be responsible for you not getting your walk in.”  I replied, “I am responsible for not getting my walk in. But you need assistance with your project and I want to be there for you.”

Ultimately, if I have to make a choice between “self gratification” or “self indulgence” or anything “self” versus taking care of my eternal sweetheart, the “sweetheart” will ALWAYS win out.

We did get a good chunk of her intense homework project done last night and got to bed late.

Looks like I will need to walk and “Get Down” tonight….
