Fitness Challenge Day 42 – What is 25 Pounds?

I noted the other day that I had hit the 25 pounds lost mark in my journey.  In response to that, my cousin Lewis, who lives in Austin, noted the following to me about the significance of 25 pounds:

25lbs is significant – in visual terms this is the weight of:

  • an average 2 yr old
  • a 25 lb barbell plate
  • a bowling ball
  • a small dog
  • 10 ft metal chain
  • 5 bags sugar
  • 25 foot balls
  • a 19 inch flat screen T.V.
  • 3 one gallon jugs of water

Still juicing it!

Yesterday was pretty uneventful for this 425 pound guy.  I did get my juice drinking in.  It was made from our multi-colored carrots from Bountiful Baskets.  I know that Julianne added some other things…probably celery and apples and who knows what else.

The juice is tasting better as I am getting used to it. Joe Cross (the guy who did Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead) would be proud of me.  Obviously, I have not gone “reboot” like many have.  But we do try to get juice in a few times a week.  I do appreciate all that we have learned from him!

By the way, I have seen that Joe Cross will be coming to Louisville on June 13th.  I am hoping to take Julianne and go learn something about juicing and maybe even get a picture with Joe Cross!!

Balancing Work and Life

My biggest challenge is now trying to balance my “life objectives” with “work.”  Yesterday I had a load of contract web work to do and pretty much was at it from after dinner until really late.  UGH!

Didn’t get a walk in and I could have used one.

I’ll get one in today!

I hope that all of my Kentucky/Ohio readers will come join Team Sumoflam at the Great American Fitness Challenge in Lexington, KY on June 13. Some have already registered and I am hoping more of you will join us for this fun event. It will be held at the beautiful Kentucky Horse Park and features two RUN events – a 5K and a 15K – and two OBSTACLE events – an Open Steeplechase and an Elite Steeplechase. You can register by clicking the link below. Anyone that participates on Team Sumoflam will get a specially designed t-shirt with artwork by singer/songwriter/artist Antsy McClain.
