Fitness Challenge Day 6 – You Can Do Magic

Day 6 is done and it was a good day! The theme of today’s post is “You Can Do Magic,” which is based on the song by the 1970s pop group America (one of my 1970s favorites…I saw them in concert in 1975 when they were big stuff!).  As I was returning from my walk this song came up on Pandora…I felt like it was speaking to me.  “You can do magic…you can do anything that you desire.” It invigorated me…

So, the magic started this morning with a good jar of juice.

Drinking my red juice this morning. Beets, carrots, lemon, bell pepper, anaheim pepper, celery….and funky hair!!

After working a few hours and still feeling full I had my salad in a jar lovingly made by my sweetheart.  Included Organic heirloom cherry tomatoes, romaine lettuce, garbanzo beans, some celery, bell peppers, purple cabbage, cucumber.  When covered with Julianne’s 3-2-1 dressing (three parts Balsamic vinegar, two parts stone ground mustard and one part 100% maple syrup).  This filled a large bowl…a BIG bowl…and filled me as well.

Salad in a Jar – a great way to pack a lunch

Of course, my day would not be complete without my walk.  I was worried it might rain, but it didn’t and I walked a new route today.  Got 1.33 miles in and felt great….little knee pain.

And then, as I rounded the corner nearing the house the America song came on…I was so invigorated that I stole a ball from some kids playing ball and did a slam dunk!! WOW!!!! Oomp There it is!

Slamoflam!! He can do magic…he believes he can fly!

After the walk and slam, time for a great dinner.  Julianne prepared an amazing dinner…rice, refried beans and then a selection of toppings — corn, onions, green onions, chiles, avocado, tomatoes, lettuce and green or red salsa.  These rice bowls were awesome and filling…especially for a starved Slamoflam!  Then, for desert we used items from our Bountiful Baskets Tropical pack…mangoes, bananas, star fruit, pineapple…all fresh.

A fresh and tasty dinner…much of it from our Bountiful Baskets goodies.

It was a good day….I feel good…and I feel like I can do magic!
