Fitness Challenge Day 73: The 5K is Tomorrow

These are the medals for the GAFC. One on left goes to ALL who complete

Really really busy with the GAFC team prepping for tomorrow’s Great American Fitness Challenge and the 5K walk with family and other members of Team Sumoflam.

Though this is only one small step in my progress for better health, it is a big one as accomplishing the 5K will be the longest I have walked since 2009, and the 70+ days leading it up to it have warranted more exercise than I have had in years!

Happy with Lot #9

I have prepped hard and am “pretty happy with my lot in life…right here in Lot #9.”

Over the past two months I have logged over 75 miles of walking in MapMyWalk and have also lost 36 pounds.

This will only be the first of many, though I don’t have any intention of running marathons.  My marathons will be on a bicycle.  That is my ultimate goal…get back to biking and enjoy some nice rides with my sweetheart!!

Gonna take home this medal for finishing. Let’s Do This!

So, tomorrow it is.  I will finish and will take home a finisher medal…my first ever and it will be meaningful since I have not only worked hard to accomplish this goal, but also worked hard with the Great American Fitness Challenge team at BrainBox to make it happen.

Go, Dave go!! You don’t need luck, because you’ll do great. I am so stoked for you, and you got lucky Number 9 too; bonus! Remember: the last 4 letters of the word ‘American’ are I Can! Hah! 😀 I know I’m a dork, but I’m Ok with it. I can’t wait to hear all about it and see pics of you and your team. Looking forward to that victory smile. Go, Dave go! 🙂
