Fitness Challenge Days 70/71: Not Climbing Back Up That Mountain

Beartooth Mountains in Southern Montana – photo by Sumoflam Photography

I love the mountains.  I have made many visits to them.  But mountains are hard to climb and once at the top, you can easily tumble down.

In some respects, I am looking at my “journey” as being one on the way down the mountain.  I spent many years slowly climbing up…weight kept getting higher.

Now, like a Landslide, my weight is tumbling back down as can be seen from the graph below. That tumble has only happened since April 1.

The “landslide”

This is a mountain I DO NOT want to climb back up.  In fact, I hope to keep tumbling down from the high precipice of 450 to the lower, more moderate regions…and there is no finish line.

Speaking of Landslide, I refer to some of the lyrics from Fleetwood Mac, with a few little alterations for this purpose…in this case the word “you” can be considered to mean “food” and not a person.

Well, I’ve been afraid of changing
‘Cause I’ve built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
Even children get older
And I’m getting older too

Well, I am getting older, and because the children (and grandchildren) are getting older too, I must get bolder and take steps to prolong my life so I can go to grandchildren graduations and weddings, and maybe even live long enough to see a GREAT grandchild or two…

Obviously, a major driving factor for me has been the Great American Fitness Challenge.

The last couple of days I have not gotten much walking in as we shopped for and then prepped for making our silk screen t-shirts for Team Sumoflam and the GAFC this coming Saturday.

Last night Julianne, with all her ingenuity, used the Antsy McClain designed Team Sumoflam graphic, made a few changes to the artwork and then created the means to do the silk screening at home.  This was a good cost saver and a great learning experience for both of us.

We are now in the silk screening business!!!

With the Silk Screen Template

Julianne shows off her great work. (I only held the template and the t-shirt…but it took two people to do it.)

We are getting down to GAFC Day….only Three Days away.  Have you registered for any of the events yet?
